Captain(s): Sid Youngleman
|
|
| |
Red Drew's career as Alabama coach came to a disappointing conclusion as the Tide struggled to a 4-5-2 record, including a sorrowful curtain closing 28-0 defeat to bitter foe Auburn. Sid Youngleman, who would go on to have a noted professional football career, was Drew's final captain while lineman George Mason earned All-American honors by Football Digest. Running back-defensive back Corky Tharp was a first team All-SEC choice and second team All-American.
A 27-0 win over Tennessee and a 12-0 blanking of LSU were the acme points for Drew's final season. |

Notes: Coach Drew concludes his Bama career with a 45-28-7 record. |
