Captain(s): Fred Pickhard

With most of the cast from the 1925-26 teams graduated, Wallace Wade had his first major rebuilding job and what started off as a successful season evolved into a 5-4-1 year.
Senior Fred Pickhard earned All-Southern Conference honors for Bama. Successive season-ending losses to Florida, Georgia and Vanderbilt left Bama reeling. The Georgia game marked the first Alabama game in the present day Legion Field. Actually, it was the second game played in the edifice; the week before Howard (now Samford) and Birmingham Southern played the introductory game there. |
