After winning its first three games by a collective score of 80-0 over Howard, Birmingham Southern and Georgia Tech, Alabama star quarterback Charlie Joplin was ruled ineligible because he had played professional baseball. Joplin's loss figured significantly the rest of the way as Alabama finished with a 5-4 record. |
