Alabama vs.Georgia
Francis Tarkenton and the Bulldogs of Georgia handed the Tide a loss to open the 1959 season. The only points that the Tide could manage came fron a Fred Sington field goal in the third quarter. The 1959 squad finished with a 7-2-2 record and with an appearence in the Liberty Bowl for Coach Bryant.
