The Crimson Tide came out absolutely flat against the Maroons in this contest as Mississippi State took advantage of many Alabama miscues to go on to a 14-0 victory. After a scoreless first half, Mississippi State blocked an Alabama punt deep in its own territory which set up the first touchdown and in the final quarter a pass interception led to the second score. The 1941 squad finished the season 9-2 as national champions after a victory in the Cotton Bowl for Coach Thomas. |
